About Clare Hemington - Cat Behaviourist

Clare spent the early part of her professional life climbing the corporate ladder in some of the world's most well known organisations such as the BBC, Citibank and Reuters.
In 2001 she decided to take voluntary redundancy to fulfil her ambition of working in the animal welfare sector. During the three years that followed she worked at a number of animal welfare charities as well as doing voluntary work for local animal shelters and catteries.
At the end of this period she had acquired not only lots of knowledge but also an even greater awareness of the importance of education in relation to animal health and well being, and this made her more determined than ever to help owners more directly.

Clare has always been a bit fanatical about cats (having owned her first cat at the age of 4!) so taking the decision to specialise in cat behaviour was a no-brainer, and soon afterwards she achieved her first certificate in Cat Psychology.
In 2007 she wrote to, and was subsequently employed by an internationally renowned cat behaviourist and author, as her Practice Manager and Researcher for her books. Over the next six and a half years she had the unique privilege of working alongside her, the result of which is that in 2013 Clare attained her Cat Behaviourist accreditation with Distinction through the Centre of Applied Pet Ethology and is an Associate member of the CAPBT.
The next natural step was for Clare was to set up her own Cat Behaviour Practice - and hence CatBehaviour.net was born, serving cat owners nationwide who find themselves experiencing distressing problems in relation to their cats. She is completely committed to working with owners to try and make the quality of life of our domestic cats as good as it possibly can be.
Clare is also a freelance writer of articles and guides for pet web sites.
